We left Norseman on 11th April 2012 staying o/night at a camp spot at Dundas Rocks. Arrived in the port and very picturesque holiday town of Esperance on the south coast of WA on 12th April.
After nine days travelling across the Nullarbor from Ceduna SA to Esperance WA it was time to wash dust from clothes and inside and outside the motorhome. We checked into the Esperance Seafront Caravan Park then into the town centre to have a counter lunch at one of the hotels, go grocery shopping to replenish provisions and generally look around the town centre. Back to the Caravan Park I set up the washing machine and madly washed and washed. Even the next morning I washed linen and towels, vacuumed and washed inside and Chris spruced the outside, then off to another town hotel for a counter lunch. We then set off to do some sightseeing and drove the popular 38klm Great Ocean Drive loop to the lookout with stunning views across the turquoise waters to the bay of islands, beautiful beaches, 10 Mile Lagoon Wind Farm and Pink Lake, whose colour varies depending on the water's algae content and weather conditions.
Later in the evening enjoyed 'happy hour' with a lovely couple, Peter and Marilyn, who we first met at Caiguna Blowhole on the Nullarbor and who were also staying at the Caravan Park.
Saturday 14th April, we travelled 45klms to Cape Le Grande National Park and were fortunate to secure a camp site at Le Grande Beach - a hidden treasure with only 15 individual camp spots nestled in amongst the coastal sand dunes and salt bush. Before lunch we worked up an appetite climbing Mount Le Grande to best view the beach and Frenchman's Peak. The afternoon was spent relaxing and reading.
