EASTER SUNDAY on the Nullarbor

8th April 2012............

'Happy Easter everyone'!

We had breakfast then phoned our eldest granddaughter for her 8th birthday. Wished everyone a happy Easter and phoned the youngest granddaughter and her dad and mum to wish them a happy Easter. I couldn't get in touch with our youngest daughter and her husband but I know they have gone to a property near Orange for Easter and perhaps they are out of mobile communication.

We left our scenic camp spot and again crossed the SA/WA border. Travelled the short distance on to Eucla and refuelled ready for our next lengthy trip but guess what we had to go back to the border......Chris had left his shower shoes outside the motorhome, after a shower, at the Border Village Roadhouse. Yes they were still lying waiting for him!

Yes we crossed the SA/WA border again – 3 times in 24 hours!

Finally we continued onto Mundrabilla another Roadhouse complex, and played our 6th Nullarbor Links Golf Course hole.....'Watering Hole'. We played our golf hole and then chatted with two men who arrived in a 1930's Model A Ford. These two men are driving around Australia from Perth, in this quaint small car, to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. We gave a donation to their cause and took a few pictures. I loved the fox skin hanging out from under their swags, from a trunk, at the back of their car. They have been away 5½ weeks and are on their final leg of their journey.

We only travelled a few more klms and found a quiet camp spot for the rest of the day and evening.

  1. What a great Easter story, you look so relaxed! As ever your photos tell a good story. Love that Ford but the Winnebago is more my style!! The golfer's style is great, sock protectors & all..... Good to talk to you last night. Happy travelling, Kathy
