At last, Chris found a colander to make a small fire in. We sat around the fire until dark. Now we are in search of a tripod and camp oven!
Thursday 2nd June 2011: Happy Birthday Nicole (our youngest Daughter) - 34 today. Rang and spoke to Nicole for her birthday. Left The Pebbles campsite back to the historic site of the Overland Telegraph Station (1872). Stopped at the Rev John Flynn Memorial. Travelling north ventured onto the Old Stuart H'way to Churchills Head, just past the rock formation was magnificent panoramic views of the landscape (camera shots just can't capture the splendor of the views)! Driving along this stretch of road had to stop for guess what - yes, a snake sunning himself, we drove a little closer and waited till he slithered off the road before proceeding. Lunch at Renner Springs and then onto Newcastle Waters, a quaint town of yesteryear where there is a Drovers Memorial and the waters surrounding the town filled with many species of birds. Stopped for the night at a Telstra Hospitality Centre and sat around Chris's campfire lit in his brand new collander.
