Mt Isa, Camooweal

Camooweal - camped down on the Georgina river - with our lovely neighbours for the evening John and Glenda - we shared their campfire. We meet John and Glenda when we camped by the river at Clem Walton Park two night ago. Now Chris wants a s/steel colander!

An eagles nest.

All the waterlillies on the Georgina River at Camooweal.
The track down to the river.

From Mt. Isa Lookout

Monday 30/05/2011: Visited Mt Isa Lookout. The copper and lead mines are right in the centre of town. We did a big supermarket shop in preparation for our travel further Nth west across nothingness. Travelled to Camooweal where we stayed on the bank of the Georgina River in one of the prettiest spots on earth. Abundance of different birds, broglas, ducks, wedge tailed eagles (one nesting) while another keeping a look out, willie wagtails, kites, herron and a million corellas. The water was covered in waterlillies. We sat and watched nature as the pair of eagles watched over their nest. We sat and chatted by a camp fire with the couple Glenda and John that we meet at Clem Walton Park.

  1. Hi Marea
Great to see you are travelling so well. Look forward to following the continuing travels. Loved the 130 speed sign and the diesel usage photo. col wants to know how many litres per 100 kilometres you are getting?? and what is the comfortable cruising speed of the vehicle??
    Cheers

  2. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you are there, in everything I am, in everything I've ever done, and looking back, I know that I should have told you know much you've always meant to me.
